I'm focusing my talents on POG Sound completely now. I've passed the responsibility of maintaining the main POG web site onto Charles Alexander. I will continue to do sound for POG and Chax readings and post them here on POG Sound. It's just time to lighten my load and keep it breezy. I wish Charles all the best and I'll still be here. Introductions on POG Sound: We're adding the introductions for poets as separate Mp3's in the interest of historical archiving. Listeners will have the choice of hearing the introduction and then the reading or simply the reading depending on your interests and time constraints. We are very interested in your reactions to this addition! Please email us with your impressions so we can get a take on how we are doing!

Thanks to input from our listeners we've redesigned POG Sound for easier navigation to the most recent POG and Chax Press readings. The newest readings will be at the top of each heading.

PennSound, Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing at the University of Pennsylvania, further archives POG Sound. PennSound is an ongoing project, committed to producing new audio recordings and preserving existing audio archives.

POG Sound is a joint project of POG and Chax Press with recordings going back to 2006. Our poetry season follows the school year, Fall through Spring.

Music by Tim Risher, using fragments of the poem, "Pushing Water" (primarily part 30 of this 52-part poem) by Charles Alexander. Tim Risher also composed the 10-part song cycle, Aviary Corridor, which premiered in 2007 in Seattle, Washington, and was a setting of Alexander's poem of the same name, for string quartet, flute, piano, and soprano vocals. This music is placed here on POGSOUND with the permission of the composer.
